Colin Snapp
Sydney Jonas Walk
Sydney Jonas Walk collects a series of images by Snapp as he traveled through the North West and elsewhere. The images, which have all been pulled from video work—projected on a wall and then re-photographed—are worn down by digital degradation into a set of dark, grainy abstractions. The cropped-in and disorientated objects that fill the pages have been chosen for their sculptural quality; the shattered white paint of a highway divider line, an un-capped camera standing in the snow, stadium lights and shipping containers, images so murky they are barely recognizable. The book includes an opening text by Fionn Meade.
