20 Seconds Issue 3 is a cumulative symbolic investigation into the genesis of our collective understanding. We are the authors of our own landscapes. This third issue is another combination of ideas ready to spawn new possibilities of rebellion through the control and cultivation of our own perceptions.
Revisiting the work of the late Aldo Tambellini, through the lens of the curatorial team at Atelier Impopulaire, proves one example of investigating an artist’s understanding of the relationship between shapes, images and colours, via moving pictures. Through dance, the choreography of Sasha Waltz, in dialogue with Terry Riley’s In C, presents another interaction between space and silence. And in a different form of investigation, composer and musician Khyam Allami has taken concrete steps towards a proper reevaluation of the way Western and Middle Eastern musicians create and understand their music. By way of photography, the Temps Zero collective—featuring an impressive list of award-winning photographers—furnishes this edition of 20 Seconds with a mosaic of dreamlike interpretations, eroding the border not between fiction and reality, but past and future.
