SMUG is a bi-annual fashion and art magazine from Norway. Founded in 2009 and after only two issues, it has established itself as the leading independent magazine covering art, fashion, and culture in Norway.
The current issue (in Norwegian only) has interviews with Steve Reich, Ariel Pink, Dan Colen and a whopping 26 page feature on The Institute of Social Hypocrisy. Also included are articles on David Lynch, looking at his works on paper that most recently showed at the Fondation Cartier in Paris and on the late, great Arthur Russell with a load of amazing archive photographs. Six fashion editorials round out the rest of the magazine, along with a piece on 1970s pinups.
Antenne Books has exclusive distribution of SMUG in the UK and we look forward to receiving the forthcoming issue 4 in March, which will be published in both English and Norwegian.
