What We’re…

Each month the brains behind Antenne are providing their recommendations for eating, drinking and everything else.

What We’re Eating

Maxine: Pancakes and a chocolate milkshake from My Old Dutch and I am always up for a lettuce burger at Shake Shack. For higher end, I am still thinking about our Christmas lunch at Ibai

Mia: I’m cooking Alison Roman recipes day in, day out.

Kat: Scotti’s Snack Bar at lunch after seeing it on the Instagram account run by Isaac Rangaswami, @caffs_not_cafes

Coco: I am eating seasonally, with fennel I make a little salad and with rhubarb I make a compote.

Where We’re Drinking

Maxine: Having a chilled glass of red wine and a boiled egg at Le Beaujolais in Soho is perfect after a long day at work, usually I’d then go have a Negroni at Trisha’s.

Coco: This month for my birthday I was treated to some cocktails at Bambi, my favourite was the Amaretto Sour.

Kat: Catching up with my friends at Ancestrals Wines in Forest Hill.

Mia: A cheeky mezcal at Spanners.

What We’re Reading

Maxine: I have started to read How To End A Story, Collected Diaries by Helen Garner, after my friends and Nigella Lawson raved about it.

Mia: I am rereading Modern Nature by Derek Jarman.

Kat: Recently I have listened to the audiobook of Kitchen Confidential read by Anthony Bourdain.

Coco: I recently picked up the 100th anniversary issue of The New Yorker

What We’re Buying

Coco: I found this great top made from a recycled New York Yankees T-shirt at the Gina Corrieri pop up on Brick Lane. I can’t wait to wear it as the weather gets warmer.

Mia: I bought some Japanese Shoji paper from John Purcell, the best paper distributor in London. Also my trusted Maybelline Superstay 24 in Caramel Kiss.

Maxine: I’ve splashed out on the new Kiko Kostadinov Asics trainers, and a Thai herb nasal inhaler.

Kat: I bought a studio pass to the London Center for Book Arts, I can’t wait to learn more about book binding.

What We’re Going To See

Coco: I am super excited to see Chungking Express at The Prince Charles Cinema.

Kat: I am going to check out The Face exhibition this month at The National Portrait Gallery.

Mia: I loved the Peter Hujar exhibition at Raven Row, Eyes Open in the Dark.

Maxine: I have no time to consume any culture.

What We’re Watching

All: White Lotus and rewatching Girls, feeling seen as we are all Hannah Hovarth…

What We’re Recommending

Mia: American Art Catalogues is my favourite publisher, recently I especially loved Idler by Arisa Yoshioka. The paintings are inspiring for my own creative pratice especially the colours and compositions.

Maxine: “Daily Bread” the latest issue by Cake Zine. I love reading my friends Anna Cafolla and Adriana Gallo’s articles on the nuns of West London who make bread as the parish’s main source of income, and Psychedelic Bread which is about the hallucinogenic effects ergot can produce.

Kat: Magic Hat by Birdpit is super cute, the illustrations are so bright and colourful and I love the multiple endings. The super small format is great I can take it with me wherever I go.

Coco: WFTV’s, Untitled Curriculum is super inspiring when it comes to styling and mood boarding, and the interview they did for us recently was great too!
