A Day In The Life - Domino Leaha

Diaries are never mundane. For our Day In The Life series, we’re asking some of our friends, collaborators, and people we admire for a mini-diary, to let us see what a ‘normal’ day in their life looks like.

I don’t really have a set routine. I prefer to live spontaneously. Even when I work on a project, my days change depending on where I am and how I feel. But, I like to start my days by waking or doing pilates, being in nature, seeing animals, relaxing, or finding new, inspirational places; seeing where the morning takes me. Then, I can be relaxed before I begin my workday.

I love my mushroom coffee in the morning. I gave up regular coffee, so this is my new thing. I spray some spring water on my face and go for a walk.

When I'm in San Francisco or Los Angeles, I feel very much alive and happy. I live
day-by-day, curious and without expectation. I’m always ready to meet new people and start new projects.

Lunch time in Los Angeles

When in LA, I always stop by Peter Shire’s studio in Echo Park. He has become a kind of mentor to me, always supportive, and a great host!

Here, Peter and I share a cute moment during my LA book launch at the lovely Des Pairs book shop in Echo Park.

My friend, Natalie, wrote a secret poem, called “The Lens,” that’s hidden inside my book. She travelled from London to be with me for my birthday and the launch. I’m blessed to have such wonderful friends who are always there for me, as life can be challenging at times.

Afternoon - Milano

I once had my heart broken by a beautiful boy in Milan. It’s always a little bit bittersweet when I’m here, so I met up with my fabulous French friend and curator, Flora Le Saint, who set up my upcoming show. Visiting museums and taking in all types of art is a way to be gentle with myself; to keep my mind stable, especially before a big opening night when I’m feeling a bit anxious.

Night out - Milano

Here is my friend and photographer Giulio Hoffmann taking photos of me and going around Nord from bar to bar just to have fun.

The night of my show on April 9, 2026, at Riccardo Raspa’s gallery, Quatto Milano, my London friends, Mimiko and Earl, will be performing with their band, Bell Practice.
It will be so great to have them there to support my showcase, like a little piece of home. Milan will be my last stop before going back to London.
