ARCHIVIO N°11 - The Tech Issue

"ARCHIVIO N°11 charts the international landscape of technology archives, tracing the roots of the digital revolution and exploring the places where our technological past is preserved. It celebrates the collectors, institutions, and enthusiasts who saw cultural value in objects once dismissed as obsolete. A magazine by Promemoria Group, ARCHIVIO N°11 is curated by Massimo Banzi, co-founder of Arduino, together with Cecilia Botta, technology historian and Head of Memories at Promemoria Group. Daniela Hamaui leads the editorial direction, while Alessandro Gori shapes the art direction, ensuring a strong visual and narrative identity throughout the issue. The cover, designed by artist Ailadi, pays homage to the early aesthetics of the digital age. Created using PETSCII, the character set of Commodore 8-bit computers, it captures the look and feel of technology in its formative years. Included with the issue is a special poster: an (in)complete mapping of Italy’s many technology archives. The research, conducted by Promemoria Group and visually interpreted by Accurat, transforms data into a striking visual narrative — a collectible artwork in itself. "
