e-flux Index is a quarterly print publication that sets out to untangle the mess of the contemporary. The Index is unique for its remit, bringing together art and film theory, philosophy, architecture, and criticism under the same publication. Each edition of the Index draws into dialogue commissioned essays, reviews, and articles drawn from the five separate sections of e-flux.com: e-flux Architecture, e-flux Criticism, e-flux Education, e-flux Journal, and e-flux Notes. Now entering its first year of publishing, Index #55 features all e-flux’s commissioned pieces from August–September 2024. It includes contributions from 61 authors, artists, architects, filmmakers, poets, and educators, organized according to a ‘deviant taxonomy’ of nine new categories. These are titled: Is That All There Is?; What a Body Can Do; The Physicists’ Laugh; Dens, clubs, hives, and cells; The Tourist; Flickers; Promethean Shame; Proxies; and Inextinguishable Fires. e-flux Index#5 features contributions from: Rouzbeh Akhbari, Sanna Almajedi, Étienne Balibar, Rend Beiruti, Xenia Benivolski, Daniel Birnbaum, Hunter Bolin, Nathan Brown, Harry Burke, Luis Camnitzer, Mark Cinkevich, María Iñigo Clavo, Maya Deren, Jacob Dreyer, Anna Engelhardt, Solveig Font, Kenny Fries, Coco Fusco, Orit Gat, Leo Goldsmith, Ana María Gómez López, Andrea González Garrán, Boris Groys, Lauren van Haaften-Schick, Barbara Hammer, Dehlia Hannah, Isobel Harbison, Jörg Heiser, Yuk Hui, Kateryna Iakovlenko, Celia Irina González, Juan José Santos, Aubrey Knox, Hamlet Lavastida, Debra Lennard, Sophie Lewis, Julio Llópiz Casal, R.H.
