Echoes Faded Culture
Book Introduction
This book is an archive of the works created by Wooksang, a tattooist and painter. The images—sometimes resembling tattoo designs, other times like doodles left on the
corner of a notebook—come together to form a unique texture. The pages, where various motifs intertwine freely, evoke a sense of liberation, humor, and indirect yet
vivid experience for the reader. Through this archive, Wooksang expresses his hope that documentation can go beyond mere record-keeping to become a source of
inspiration and reference for others.
Author Introduction
Wooksang is an artist who creates tattoo designs and painting sketches simultaneously, embedding his tastes and worldview in drawings that resemble casual doodles
from daily life. The seemingly effortless lines he draws on his iPad transcend simple documentation, becoming a medium that connects him with audiences who share
similar sensibilities and broadens his perspective.
He believes that nothing lasts forever. For that reason, he focuses on fleeting moments and finds beauty in all things that age and weather with time, turning vintage in
the process. Rather than staying confined to a single style, he archives the scenes and sensations that capture his eye in each moment, reinterpreting them in his own
visual language. These fragments of thought come to life as tattoos on skin or paintings on canvas, each carrying its own new story.
