bean zine

this zine — the first of a growing series of publications by the land— had to be about the bean because, for them, beans embody community: they are nourishing, (ful)filling, stable, and often overlooked. reading the pieces in this zine, it can be seen that for others, too, beans elicit familiarity, security, and nostalgia. they just take care of you. understanding that beans are a staple in many cultures, the land was curious to learn the different ways that beans have literally and metaphorically nourished people, with the hope of passing on some of that comfort to our readers. the recipes and stories found in this zine — sometimes playful, sometimes serious — can be read as instructions for taking care of yourself and others in the form of a meal.
