In 1927, Harry’s Bar in Paris published the first known recipe for the Boulevardier cocktail: equal parts bourbon, sweet vermouth, and Campari. That same year, an American expatriate named Erskine Gwynne launched a magazine by the same name, a witty, worldly journal chronicling life among the café set. Nearly a century later, the drink remains a modern classic. And now, the magazine returns as a celebration of timeless bars, transatlantic culture, and the enduring charm of the boulevardier spirit. The new issue blends archival finds with fresh perspectives, including never-before-reprinted essays by Ernest Hemingway and Louis Bromfield, alongside new contributions from Aaron Goldfarb (Esquire, PUNCH), Georgette Moger (author of Regarding Cocktails), and other leading voices in drinks, travel, and style. With contributors spanning Paris, London, and New York, The Boulevardier is both a time capsule and a toast. It’s an ode to the irreverent, the well-dressed, and the slightly over-served. A limited print run will accompany its online release at boulevardierparis.com.
